its a warm 68 degrees here in denver, CO and it feels pretty normal. i mean, it is mid october, and it should be sunny but with a smidge of chill in the air.
and thats exactly how it is.
its crisp, and cold at night. in the day time, the sun shines and there is a nice fall-tasting breeze that comes through our sliding glass door. it is great.
today though, i went on facebook and say it was 98 degrees in hollywood! and a whopping 87 in santa monica! since when is it normal for it to be over 75 over there? but then i quickly remembered there are only two seasons in california: summer and a somewhat rainy spring/winter/fall. i am loving the changing seasons. i like how october feels like october, and august felt...well, like august. i am not sure how november and december and even january will be, but i hear im in for a snowy treat :)
this breezy fall day reminded me of this summer. this summer was one i will never forget. i went on the jet plane to colorado, and said goodbye to a marvelous set of memories.
every couple of nights, my sister and i would make a delectable dinner with ingredients from trader joes. maybe i have such nostalgia because i REALLY miss trader joes, but i think i am so joyful when i look back because it was a sweet time with my sister. from chicken satay stir fry to margherita pizzas and kaluha cupcakes, the food we made did more than just nourish me for the moment. food is such a lovely metaphor for the sustainment that comes from the lord. when i think back on this summer, i remember how great the food..but the memories that were made from standing over the oven, laughing over the "moonboots" joke with my sister.
here are some clips :)
come back to me!!!!!!!!!!
