good-ness.

many things in life are deemed "good". we catch ourselves saying, " she/he is is a good friend", " he is a good person/guy", " life is good", " this cake is good", "church was good" and even "the lord is good." as I was thinking today, i began to wonder what makes something "good". is it someone or something's mark of significant in another's life? I am not sure. my inquisitive mind lead me to the true definition.

good:
1. to be desired or approved
2. having or possessing qualities for a particular role
3. possessing or portraying moral virtue
4. giving pleasure; enjoyable or satisfying
5. thorough
6. used in conjunction with the name of God (yes this was in the dictionary)

there are six distinct definitions of good. ranging from good to goodness. whether it is a person, thing, or event, there is a vast expanse of what makes something good, and there is no wrong answer. to find goodness in an ice cream bar or to find true respite and goodness in the presence of the lord....many things in life are good.
